The Ministry of Health and Human Services is proud to share that groundbreaking training on HPV screen-and-treat has started this week at USP Long Island (and later in CMI), led by the Kirby Institute and partners. Leadership was fully engaged, with Deputy Secretary for the Office of Health Planning, Edlen Anzures, opening the event on behalf of the Ministry’s Leadership Team (MLT).

This hands-on training gives our health workers the tools and skills they need to prevent cervical cancer — a disease that continues to claim the lives of women across the Pacific but can be stopped with early detection and treatment.

For the Marshall Islands, this marks the beginning of a stronger fight against cervical cancer. Starting next week, services will begin at the Youth to Youth Clinic, with plans to expand to outreach programs across our islands. This is more than training — it’s about saving lives, empowering women, and protecting the health of future generations. 🌺💙

Stay tuned for more updates later this week as we continue this important journey together.
