Marshall Islands moves to reduce world's strictest Covid-quarantine

The Marshall Islands is one of only a handful of nations never to have experienced a single case of community transmission of Covid-19. Its border closure in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 and later implementation of one of the world's strictest quarantine programs for people coming into this isolated island group have kept it Covid-free.

Since it began allowing people into the country in mid-2020, the Marshall Islands has maintained one of the world's strictest Covid-prevention entry systems. As a result, this western Pacific nation remains one of the few countries in the world that is still Covid-free, even as many of its Pacific neighbours have seen their first Covid spread in the past several weeks.
