Communicable diseases, also known as infectious diseases, are illnesses caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungi. These diseases can spread from person to person, through direct or indirect contact, or through vectors such as mosquitoes or ticks. Communicable diseases have been a significant public health concern throughout history, impacting individuals, communities, and even entire populations.
